Adoption Information

Our ONLINE application form is at the bottom of this page. We encourage you to read this page entirely.

We are not a shelter. Each of the animals you see listed with Lab Lovers Rescue is kept in a loving foster home. They are given love, training and the attention they require.

Adoptions through our rescue require an application process.

**BEFORE YOU CONTACT THE FOSTER HOME **

If you want more information or would like to meet the dog, you must FIRST fill out an application, have references checked, a home check and become approved.

Due to our required home visit, we only adopt to homes within 40 miles of Rochester. We do have volunteers in a few outlying areas, please contact us here to check on your location.

We strive to make the best match for each dog within our program. This process may take two weeks or more. Please be patient, good things come to those who wait.

NOTE: To be sure you are serious about adopting from us we require a $25 deposit donation upon applying. This deposit will be deducted from your final adoption costs. If you apply for a dog and are outside of our area - you can feel good knowing your application donation will be used to help the dogs in foster care with Lab Lovers Rescue.

You can pay via Paypal using Visa or Mastercard. Upon completion of the form you will be directed to a thank you page with a Paypal link. Your deposit will be applied to your adoption donation once the adoption is complete. If you need to pay by check, your application will be delayed until your check is received.

ADOPTION DONATIONS

WHY ADOPTION DONATIONS?

"FREE TO A GOOD HOME." Free is never free. If you ever wondered why legitimate rescues must charge for adoption, this article will tell you what happens to animals given away. "Bunchers," Animal testing, baiting for dog fights, breeder mills...

Since we are a volunteer organization funded entirely by contributions, we count on your continuing support as well as your adoption donations to help defray the costs of caring for our foster dogs. We are delighted to accept any amounts over these minimum donations to help other dogs in our care.
